8 Ways to Look Smaller Than Your Actual Size

Posted on by admin Posted in Beauty and Fashion 0 Comment

Looking slimmer is an American national past time. Many women and men desire a slimmer look, either on a daily basis or for a special occasion. There are many different tips and ideas for giving the illusion of a slimmer body. Tips don’t end with clothes, either; people can create the image of a slimmer body shape with makeup and hair accessories. Try a few different options before settling on one specific method.

1.Wear vertical stripes:

Shirts, dresses and skirts with vertical stripes automatically draw the eye to an up-and-down pattern, giving a bigger frame a slimmer appearance.

2.Buy the right jeans:

The right pair of jeans can create a slimmer look. Boot jeans give the bottom of the leg a bulkier look, while slimming out the waistline. When the weight issues are in the hips, thighs and bottom, a boot cut jean creates a bigger look at the bottom of the pant, rather than at the top

3.Wear body shapers:

These garments are worn under the clothing to pull excess fat and body weight closer to the body frame. Shapers are comfortable under clothes, when worn in the proper size.

4.Slim the waistline with A-lines and don’t button to the top:

A-line clothing includes hem lines which skim the hips and flare at the bottom. When the weight is at the top of the body, A-lines draw the eye away from the top of the body to the legs. Button-up tops can also be left unbuttoned to create a slimming V-line at the top of the chest.

5.Avoid bulky or small sizes:

One of the biggest fashion mistakes a heavier person can make is to try to hide the overage with bulky clothing. The baggy clothing leaves extra fabric, which makes the person actually look heavier. Similarly, squeezing into a smaller size emphasizes the extra weight to the observer. Wear the proper clothing size to draw the eye away from the weight.

6.Wear one shade, head to toe:

This action creates a streamlined look which thins out the body to the observer. Add a scarf at the neck for interesting flair to complement the outfit.

7. Decorate your eyes:

Even out the eyebrows to slim the face, but do not make the eyebrows too thin. Leave the eyebrows looking natural. Use natural eyeshadow shades as well. Unnatural colors, such as gold and bright blue, add weight to the face. Browns, mauves and pinks add a thinning accent to the eyes and face.

8.Tie your hair into an updo:

Pulling the hair away from the face creates a streamlined look for the jawline, essentially pulling the jawline tighter. This action creates a thinner look for the face and neck.
